Uses:
Dosage: For 30g of this blend, add between 50g and 100g of your chosen tea.

There are nearly as many variations of spice blends for "chai tea" as there are drinkers of this tea! Around the "essential" ingredients like cinnamon and cardamom, an infinite number of variations are possible, as some even add fennel, anise, or cumin! In India, it is a traditional drink enjoyed throughout the day, often with milk.

Chai tea is smooth, full of flavors, without any bitterness or harshness, and it's also excellent for health since the spices and herbs it contains have numerous medicinal benefits.

I designed this sumptuous and delicious blend to allow you to easily prepare your own chai tea. You'll savor it at the end of a chilly day, accompanied by a small biscuit or a square of chocolate, cozily settled in a comfortable chair!

For a perfect balance in your cup, use slightly more tea than this blend. I mix the tea and spices in advance in a container to allow their aromas to meld, then steep the mixture in boiling water.

For the curious, here’s the traditional method of making chai tea:

Start by choosing a strong tea (like Assam) so that its flavor isn't overshadowed by the spices and herbs.

Boil the water with the spices (placing them in a tea ball, for example), remove from heat, and let steep for a few minutes.

Then add the tea (still in a tea ball if you don't have a teapot) and let it steep for a few more minutes. Finally, add hot milk if desired (a splash or more, to taste) and sugar.

Serve immediately and drink hot.

A Little History:
The word "Chai" (pronounced "tchai") is the Hindi term used in India to refer to tea. So, saying "chai tea" is actually a misnomer, like saying "tea tea"! This term "chai" is also used in several Central European languages to mean tea, and its origin traces back to Persian, which borrowed it from Mandarin.
